Customer Spotlight: The Eco-Playhouse by EcoCustomHomes

Eco Custom Homes, a leading Atlanta based sustainable custom homes builder is used to developing some of the the greenest homes in America. Jeffery Dinkle, President of the company decided to develop a playhouse version of the real green homes they build for an auction hosted by HomeAid Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that builds and renovates multi-unit transitional housing facilities for the homeless. The Eco-Playhouse is the first playhouse entirely made up of reclaimed, recycled and sustainably manufactured materials!

The Eco-Playhouse features a high quality Kyocera KC-65T, 65 watt solar panel and a Morningstar Prostar PS-15 charge controller to keep the batteries from being overcharged. This system powers a single load. Eco Custom Homes decided to add a small off-grid solar power system because they understood the attention the unique Eco-Playhouse is receiving is setting the stage for the opportunity to encourage, educate and inspire others to consider the importance and reliability of sustainable building.

Future generations need to understand the importance of sustainable practices and renewable energy, and since this Eco-Playhouse will be inhabited by kids, it makes not only a great educational tool but a very effective method to introduce concepts to the people who count the most.

Great work. Glad to see someone using their blog for positive purposes and for the benefit of society. Anything which assists us in becoming energy independent is a good thing to my mind.

I came across your blog while blog surfing using the “next blog” button on the Nav Bar of blogger.com. I am continually fascinated by the types of blogs that exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people all over the globe express themselves. Thanks for sharing.
